Normally, for healthy eyes you need enough nutrients.cataracts and macular degeneration are the main sicknesses in the eye. Mainly lutein and zeaxanthin are the most essential nutrients for the health of the eye. These substances highly concentrated in the macula of the eye giving it a yellowish colour lutein and zeaxanthin are carotenoids.pigments give plants red orange and yellow colour protect the plant from high energy light rays. In the eye meso-zeaxanthin is produced in the retina using ingested lutein. This substance is not founding any food.

Advantages of lutein and zeaxanthin

They prevent entering of blue light on the retina. Blue light develops macular degeneration in the retina and they help to protect the body from free radicals that damage the body sells. Lutein and zeaxanthin

And the by-product meso- zeaxanthin helps to prevent the eye diseases. Increased level of macular pigment means lower risk of developing AMD

Food with Lutein and zeaxanthin

Green and yellow vegetables (with leafy) are containing the above subtances. These substances mostly are found in non-vegetarian sources like egg yolk. But if you have too much of cholesterol ,stick to vegetarian items.
